The builders well developed MOB recovery system is fitted on the transom allowing a casualty to be easily recovered in a MOB situation and is the result of over 14 years experience in building pilot craft, experience that ensures all aspects of the crafts design and engineering is capable of withstanding one of the toughest marine roles allowing the port to ensure continuous, reliable pilotage capabilities.
The Port of Cromarty Firth is the statutory Harbour authority for the waters of the Cromarty Firth. The naturally sheltered deepwaters of the Firth allow access to vessels all year round and forms one of the safest and most commodious anchorages in the north of Scotland. The Port chose Safehaven’s Interceptor 48 pilot vessel for its ability to operate pilotage safely in all weather conditions.
Graham Grant, Marine Support Manager commented: “This has been an incredible project to work on. The Cromarty Firth is a unique and very busy stretch of water, so we needed something extremely special. The Port’s Marine Team are extremely satisfied with Dalmore and are looking forward to operating this wonderful new boat. She will provide a safe and stable platform for performing pilotage operations in our often challenging conditions and Sea trials in Ireland during which we were out in 6m seas proved that our confidence in the pedigree of this boat was completely justified.”
Safehaven Marine currently have in construction and future orders for seven pilot boats across five continents globally, a fine testimony to the excellent reputation they have established for building high quality pilot craft with excellent performance and seakeeping abilities.
